In light of the current guidelines issued by the government and by The Methodist Church regarding the impact of Covid-19 we have taken the decision not to gather in REfUSE on a Sunday evening until further notice. We believe that this decision is the best way in which we can fulfil the command to 'Love God and love our neighbour', by being part of the global move to limit the spread of the virus and protect the most vulnerable in our communities. Situations like the one we are facing bring home the importance of community and the need 'love one another' in practical ways. If there is anyone who needs support or help please get in touch.
If you would like to know more about being a Christian and the hope that we have in Jesus, or be part of an online gathering for worship, please get in touch using one of the methods on our contact page.
Week 4 - Who we are
October 24, 2016
This week we explored the passage in Colossians 3 which reminds us of the amazing change that has already taken place in those who are 'in Christ'. The 'old self' has been put off and the 'new self' put on. We draw our identity and our purpose from our relationship with Jesus, we have died with him and have been raised to new life with him. The work of renewal goes on as the Spirit works in our lives to make us more like Christ with compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness and peace, all bound together in perfect harmony with love. We grow as we let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, let his word dwell in us and join together in fellowship and worship. The ideas in Collossian 3 are skillfully animated in a video by Dan Stevers.
