A solid foundation

Jesus tells a story about two builders. One builder digs down and builds his house on the bedrock. When the floods came the house withstood the floods. The other builder builds his house on the dry clay typical in the area and when the floods come and the clay is washed away the house collapses. What is the bedrock on which our lives are to be built? Jesus says it is hearing and doing his word. When we hear the words of Jesus and apply them to our lives then our lives have a solid foundation that will see us through the flood and the storm, even through death itself. (Luke 6:46-49)
