In light of the current guidelines issued by the government and by The Methodist Church regarding the impact of Covid-19 we have taken the decision not to gather in REfUSE on a Sunday evening until further notice. We believe that this decision is the best way in which we can fulfil the command to 'Love God and love our neighbour', by being part of the global move to limit the spread of the virus and protect the most vulnerable in our communities. Situations like the one we are facing bring home the importance of community and the need 'love one another' in practical ways. If there is anyone who needs support or help please get in touch.
If you would like to know more about being a Christian and the hope that we have in Jesus, or be part of an online gathering for worship, please get in touch using one of the methods on our contact page.
The rich young ruler asked Jesus ... "what must I do to inherit eternal life"? (Luke 18:18-30) Jesus' answer accepts the premise that there is eternal life to inherit. Jesus speaks of keeping the law and tells the ruler to and give all he has to the poor. Compassion and generosity are fundamental to faithful and obedient discipleship. What are the things that keep us from faithfully following Jesus and are we strong enough to demonstrate compassion and generosity in our lives. In our time of wosrhip this evening Kathy Bevan challenged us to ask of ourselves the same question the rich ruler asked Jesus ...." what must I do ....? "
